we forgot the basics
the landing sold the agent, the mcp, the triage. it never said how feedback gets in. now it does: a board, a widget, an api. then the loop.

someone just told me on X
"i scrolled through the landing page and don't really understand how you are going to collect feedback. like google cloud logs? apple maps feedback? a custom database?"
that's the whole bug. not the copy. not the design. the first question anyone asks, and the page never answered it.
i was busy showing off
the landing had the agent. the mcp server. claude code triaging cards. duplicates merged from the terminal. changelogs published from the editor.
all true. all the part i think is interesting.
none of it matters if you don't know where the feedback comes from.
i skipped the step that's boring to me and the only step that matters to you. can i put this in my product? i never said.
so i shipped the missing section
how it works. right after the problem, before any of the ai stuff.
three ways in:
- a public board. every project gets its own page,
yourproduct.usehoot.app. share the link. people post, vote, comment. - a widget. one script tag. a feedback button shows up in your app. submissions land on the board.
- an api for native apps. ios or android, your own form, a submit-only key.
POST /api/v1/posts.
no log scraping. no database for you to set up. hoot hosts the board. you pick the door.
then the loop, in five steps. a customer speaks. it lands in hoot. you turn it into work, yourself or with the agent. they see the status move. you ship, and it's on your changelog.
i didn't cut the ai part. on purpose.
the mcp band is still there. same carousel. same terminal.
it's just second now.
first you learn how the thing works. then i show you the trick. that's the right order and i had it backwards.
the card went through hoot
the fix came in through the board, like any other card.
i asked the agent what was new. it read the card. we wrote the section. the card moved to done. the person who asked gets it in the daily digest.
the product closed its own loop. i just had to read the feedback.
